Japan payroll math,
from primary sources only.
yuzucalc computes take-home pay, bonuses, annual income tax and resident tax for salaries in Japan. Every rate comes from an official publication — the National Tax Agency, the Japan Health Insurance Association, the MHLW — and every calculator is validated against official worked examples before it goes live.

What makes this different
Every number has a citation. Health rates for all 47 prefectures come from the Kyokai Kenpo table; withholding uses the NTA's full monthly and bonus tables, not an approximation. The validation is public. Inputs, official expected values and the engine's actual outputs are published in full. Even the rounding is official — the ¥0.50 half-share rule is implemented, not approximated. No "salary × a percentage" shortcuts.
Take-home pay by prefecture
Health rates differ by prefecture (FY2026: 9.21%–10.55%). Each prefecture page runs the calculator at that rate with a worked example.
Parameters are versioned by calendar year (income tax), fiscal year (premiums) and payment date (withholding tables — the January 2027 table is already loaded). Last verified: 2026-10-25.
